One of the cooler free BlackBerry Apps that I uses on a regular based on my BlackBerry Storm 9530 is WordPress for BlackBerry which has recently been updated to version 1.3 and is now available for download. All BlackBerry users know that the current BlackBerry Browser is… well, let’s just say that the BlackBerry Browser is challenged and using it to try to manage a WordPress installation while on the go is an exercise in futility. BlackBerry App World has been updated to version 1.1.0.35. We can’t see any discernible differences between it and the previous version and gather that it is just a bug fix release. FlightTrack , a very popular travel application for the iPhone, is now available for the BlackBerry via BlackBerry App World . FlightTrack, as its name implies, allows you to track every aspect of domestic and international flights including delays, cancellations, and gate information. We’ve talked about travel applications before. WorldMate is one of our all time favorite BlackBerry applications, however, BlackBerry travel apps, WorldMate included, are often geared towards road warriors. FlightTrack is geared towards anyone with a BlackBerry that intends to get on an airplane at some point. Even if you only fly once per year or two to go on vacation, knowing the status of your flight in near real-time is invaluable

As much as the the blogosphere, myself included, have been ragging on BlackBerry maker Research in Motion, the company still sells a ridiculous number of smartphones. Shipping 10.6 million devices between January and March, RIM is now the world’s 4th largest phone manufacturer with 3.6% market share.

Back in the day before smartphones had phones in them and were generically called PDAs, usually Palm Pilot or Pocket PC, two of the places that you could pick up software for them were PocketGear and Handango . Well, PDAs got a lot smarter, we now call them BlackBerrys, iPhones, and Android devices, and we usually buy software from the branded stores run by the manufacturer of our device. PocketGear and Handango are still around, and in an effort to get back into the mobile application game, PocketGear has acquired Handango creating the worlds largest cross platform, open app store. PocketGear’s App Store supports 2,000+ mobile devices and every major OS platform, connecting consumers in 175+ countries with 140,000+ paid and free titles Durham, NC — February 23, 2010 — PocketGear, Inc.

We’ve known for a little while now that Craigslist Mobile was coming to the BlackBerry . Well, it is is here, and, you can pick it up on BlackBerry App World for $4.99. I don’t know… Maybe I just don’t get Craigslist as I have only purchased anything off if it once that I can remember. Besides just checking the Craigslist Mobile app out, I don’t know that I would even install it, let alone pay $4.99 for it. That’s just me though, as, I know that there are BlackBerry users who live and breath on Craigslist.
