The Microsoft Zune is undergoing scheduled maintenance that started early this morning at 1:00 a.m. EST. This isn’t terribly big news unless you are a Zune user. 3 phone profiles being found in the Zune.inf file of the maintenance release, is, however, kind of big… Especially since Microsoft has repeatedly stated that they had no plans to add mobile phone to the Zune since before the original Zune came out. The so-called Zune software maintenance release has a trio of Phone device drivers tucked away inside the Zune.inf file according to Long Zheng over at istartedsomething .

I was just taking a look at the specs for the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and there really isn’t much debate over it being the baddest physical QWERTY keyboard bearing BlackBerry available. Many would argue that it is the the best new BlackBerry available period. Personally, I give a slight edge to the BlackBerry Storm2, however, that is probably more personal preference than anything else.

One would have to imagine that if BlackBerry Storm2 dummy display units are starting to appear in Best Buys stores that it probably isn’t going to be too long before they actually start selling the device. It’s kind of odd that Verizon, who hyped the first BlackBerry Storm more than any other BlackBerry that I’ve seen, hasn’t even officially announced the Storm2. Kind of makes me wonder if Verizon is just dragging the ball, or, if they perceive issues with the Storm2 and don’t want a repeat of the nightmare that was the release of the original Storm
