Verizon Launches Droid BOGO Sale — Are They Making Room For The Nexus One?

Verizon has just launched a new Buy One Get One (BOGO) sale on the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris .  Each device will set you back $179.99 and $79.99 respectively, however, if you purchase one, you can get a second device for free…  Along with a 2-year service agreement, of course. I wonder if they are trying to move a bit of stock to make way for the Google Nexus One rumored to make its debut on Verizon by months end

Guest Post: Is it Time for Blackberry Users to Ride the Windows Phone 7 Bus?

Chris Ashley from Simple Mobile Review shares his thoughts on the upcoming Windows Phone 7 and the BlackBerry As I was watching all the news coming out of the Mobile World Congress about Windows Phone 7 I could not help but think about the rumors of Microsoft buying RIM . It would be hard and almost impossible to deny that a Blackberry is the most efficient messaging device on the market today. But, it suffers from many of the same problems of Windows Mobile.

The New 5.0 O/S for Blackberry

I installed the new upgraded Blackberry 5.0 OS on my Storm 1 and WOW… what a difference.  Typing on the Storm is now way easier and with fewer mistakes.  The OS seems to be much faster and the look and feel overall is a much needed improvement.   So if you have not upgraded to the NEW 5.0 OS I would suggest you do so.

To get the new OS all you have to do is plug your Blackberry to your Laptop or PC and start the Blackberry desktop and it will search for the latest updates and OS and it should have the option to load the new 5.0 OS.

Blackberry users may soon be able to watch live NBA games

Every sports fan wants the ability to stream the games to their phones.  Well, this year Major League Baseball released an app that broadcasted full games to iPhone users. It was a popular application for the 2009 season, and should continue to grow next year. The only problem is that there don’t seem to be any plans for a BlackBerry version. The  NBA just launched a streaming iPhone app, but unlike MLB they’ve already announced their BlackBerry intentions. Fans should have an NBA BlackBerry app by the end of the year, which will make available up to 40 games per week.

The NBA League Pass Mobile costs $39.99 on the iPhone and Android platforms, so expect that for the BlackBerry.  Unless your a die hard fan… thats hard to shell out for.

Verizon Officially Announces BlackBerry Storm2 9550

Verizon has finally officially announced the BlackBerry Storm2 9550 and the device will be available Wednesday, Oct. 28th.  Why it took Verizon a week and a half to come out with their official announcement after RIM officially let the cat of the bag on Oct 15th is beyond me.  RIM clearly isn’t repeating the marketing efforts that we saw with the original Storm which I believe to be the most hyped BlackBerry ever. Check out the full press release after the jump… Oct 26, 2009 06:00 ET A Powerful New Storm Rolls Onto Verizon Wireless’ Network on Oct.
