Verizon 2010/2011 Roadmap Leaked… BlackBerry Not Even Mentioned


A BGR Source has leaked Verizon roadmap plans for the remainder of 2010, 2011, and even a bit of 2012.  There is a lot of focus on LTE and Android, however, news about Research in Motion and upcoming BlackBerry devices was not present on the roadmap at all. It is clear that Verizon is putting its money on Android, however, it will be interesting to see if big red, who once accounted for 40% of all of Research in Motion’s revenue, will continue to push BlackBerry devices, or, relegate it’s former flagship smartphone line to “devices they still sell” status. Leaked Verizon 2010/2011 Roadmap In addition to the Motorola DROID and Motorola DROID X, we’re told Motorola will launch a new DROID handset, the Motorola DROID Pro.

We are only 1hr away from the RIM and AT&T event and everyone is expecting to see the BlackBerry Slider 9800 to be announced.  You have to suspect RIM may announce something around the BlackPad (AKA BlackBerry Tablet).

It appears India is not the only country concerned with getting access to BlackBerry Messenger conversations.  The UAE (United Arab Emirates) telco was unable to monitor what people are saying on their BlackBerry’s.

We just heard a very interesting stat where Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos, said that Amazon does over $1 billion in sales from mobile devices per year , most of which comes by way of smartphones.

Verizon Demos LTE In A Boston Pizza Shop — 8.55Mbps Down, 2.8 Mbps Up


It will still be a while before we start heading into Verizon Stores picking 4G LTE devices, however, this video showing the super fast wireless network in action at a Boston coffee pizza shop kind of gives a glimpse of what is around the corner.

Who Will Buy Palm? The Fire Sale Is On


This probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise to anyone but, maybe, CEO Jon Rubinstein , however, the inevitable Palm buyout is imminent .  According to Bloomberg , Palm is working with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Qatalyst Partners to find a buyer, although the company has not officially said that they are doing so as of yet.

Verizon Launches Droid BOGO Sale — Are They Making Room For The Nexus One?


Verizon has just launched a new Buy One Get One (BOGO) sale on the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris .  Each device will set you back $179.99 and $79.99 respectively, however, if you purchase one, you can get a second device for free…  Along with a 2-year service agreement, of course. I wonder if they are trying to move a bit of stock to make way for the Google Nexus One rumored to make its debut on Verizon by months end
