LuciD Messenger is a cross platform instant messaging client currently available on the iPhone, Android devices, and is coming to the BlackBerry as soon as it is approved. The LuciD messaging system allows users to send messages to friends, create chats (groups of up to 30 people), share images and files, keep your friends up-to-date with your status, and a whole lot more. Even though BlackBerry Messenger is insanely popular, I am not sure how well a smartphone only IM client is going to do even if it is cross platform. Consumers have a lot of choice when it comes to IM clients and apps that have a desktop component have have an advantage in my book

There is a new version of Loopt for the BlackBerry out with some pretty cool new features… My favorite being the ability to launch Loopt directly from your contacts.
