Foursquare for BlackBerry has been updated to version 1.5. There still isn’t any love for BlackBerry Storm users, however, you can get 1.5 to work (sort of) if you disable compatibility mode. If you aren’t on a Storm, or Storm2, version 1.5 adds the ability to add friends and tips. You can download Foursquare for BlackBerry by visiting http://foursquare.com/blackberry/beta from your devices BlackBerry Browser.

Our initial impression of Twitter for BlackBerry comes a little later than most. I guess the unofficial BlackBerry blog isn’t big time enough to be on the list of blogs RIM contacts when they want to put a preview of an application out. Our first thought, however, are about the same as most everyone else that did a review… Is this the best that RIM could come up with? I will say one nice thing about Twitter for BlackBerry smartphones. I like how it looks on the BlackBerry Storm. Beyond that, Twitter for BlackBerry doesn’t even warrant a full review. It is a pre-release version and RIM could fix a bunch of stuff before they release it, but, to make a long story short, it is simply too slow . When RIM updates the pre-release or puts out a production release that works, we’ll do a proper review. Until then, we recommend UberTwitter , which today released Beta-7 , or Social Scope , if you can get into the Beta.

There are a lot of really good big brand name BlackBerry cases and skins out there. The only problem, usually, with a big brand name case is that it often carries a big brand name price tag. I’ve gotten numerous emails from BlackBerry users looking for a really good case, but, not wanting to spend as much or more on a BlackBerry case as they did their BlackBerry

If the number of questions I’ve gotten about how to set the speed dial, how to change speed dial entries, and why there are only 8 available slots for speed dial on the BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Storm2 is an indication of how RIM did over the holiday season… RIM did pretty well. Instead of trying to answer everyone individually I figured that I would create this little post to tell you how to quickly and easily manage the speed dial on your BlackBerry Storm or BlackBerry Storm2.
