Not that we didn’t see this coming after RIM’s acquisition of Viigo back in March, the BlackBerry maker has decided to end of life the Windows Mobile version of the application. As of right now, you can no longer download Viigo for Windows Mobile and support will be killed on July 21st. One of the most highly anticipated BlackBerry application releases earlier this year was LinkedIn for BlackBerry . Unfortunately for BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Pearl users, LinkedIn for BlackBerry, when initially released back in March of this year, was not available on those particular devices. When it comes to 3rd party web browsers for the BlackBerry, Bolt and Opera Mini aren’t the only options. We just caught wind of a new BlackBerry browser from Logicplant called uZard Web , and word on the street says it shows promise. uZard Web is currently in beta, however, it’s website says it delivers the same web browsing experience as on a PC. Even though the uZard Web download page says its for the BlackBerry Bold 9000, multiple devices are currently support, although the app is pretty useless (from my experience) on the BlackBerry Storm. One of my favorite free BlackBerry downloads , Poynt , has been updated to version 1.5.4.12. For those of you new to Poynt it is one of those all-inclusive location based service (LBS) applications. Think of Poynt as a mobile version of your local Superpages or Yellow Pages that comes complete with maps – so you can pinpoint nearby businesses, get contact info… and find out how to get there.

Google Maps for BlackBerry has been updated to version 4.0.2. As usual, no release notes, however, we don’t think that this is major update over 4.0.1. Google Maps is a free BlackBerry download and you can pick it up OTA to your device via the link below.

BGR has screenshots and a pretty detailed review of BlackBerry OS 6.0. It would appear that AT&T will soon have a BlackBerry with a touchscreen that supports multitouch. Hopefully OS will enable this on the BlackBerry Storm and Storm2. Check out more pics and all the details over on BGR .
