Verizon Launches Droid BOGO Sale — Are They Making Room For The Nexus One?

Verizon Launches Droid BOGO Sale — Are They Making Room For The Nexus One?

Verizon has just launched a new Buy One Get One (BOGO) sale on the Motorola Droid and the HTC Droid Eris .  Each device will set you back $179.99 and $79.99 respectively, however, if you purchase one, you can get a second device for free…  Along with a 2-year service agreement, of course. I wonder if they are trying to move a bit of stock to make way for the Google Nexus One rumored to make its debut on Verizon by months end

40% Of BlackBerry Users Want Their Next Smartphone To Be An iPhone

40% Of BlackBerry Users Want Their Next Smartphone To Be An iPhone

According to a the second semi-annual smartphone brand loyalty survey by Crowd Science , 40% of BlackBerry users want their next smartphone to be an iPhone .  The BlackBerry may be on top when it comes smartphone market share, but, when 2 of 5 BlackBerry users want to switch to Research in Motion’s primary competition’s device, the question becomes, how long can they stay there. What is equally alarming is that the survey says that almost a third of BlackBerry users want to switch to the Google Nexus One.  I think story being told isn’t so much about BlackBerry users wanting an iPhone or a Nexus one, but, how they want something more than what the BlackBerry offers.

Is 2-Way Gmail Sync Coming With BIS 3.0? Yes, No, Maybe…

There has been a lot of conflicting information when it comes to the inclusion of 2-way Gmail Sync in BIS 3.o .  When BIS 3.0 was first announced it was believed that 2-way Gmail sync was going to be included in the update.  More recently, we started hearing that 2-way sync didn’t make it into 3.0 .  Now that BIS 3.o is being rolled out in EMEA, it looks like 2-way Gmail Sync isn’t a core piece of the the update, however, an official KB article in the BlackBerry Support Community Forums indicates that the Enhanced Gmail Plugin for BlackBerry will actually include 2-way Gmail Sync. Fandango Brings Mobile Ticket To 8 Movie Theaters

Fandango Brings Mobile Ticket To 8 Movie Theaters

It was just last month that Fandango updated their BlackBerry application and today they have launched a Mobile Ticket program that goes by the same name which allows you to buy a ticket and have it delivered to your mobile device in the form of a mobile tag… err… a QR-code type 2D barcode.  Instead of having to go to the ticket counter to pick up a paper ticket, simply whip out your mobile device and allow the ticket taker to scan it directly from your device. A special scanner is required to scan Mobile Ticket barcodes which is why Fandango has only rolled the service out to 8 cities from at the start. Fandango Mobile Ticket is available at the following locations: New York: City Cinemas 1, 2 & 3, Angelika Film Center, East 86th Street Cinemas, Village East Cinema, Beekman Theatre, The Paris Theatre.
